Bournewood’s inpatient programs at the Brookline, MA campus are an appropriate choice for adults and adolescents who need a highly structured and secure hospital setting for mental health and substance use conditions, as well as a specialized detoxification unit. Six separate Intensive Treatment Units offer compassionate and dignified treatment 24/7.

Adult Co-occurring Mental Health & Substance Use Partial Hospitalization Programs

For adults, Bournewood’s full-day PHPs promote recovery with evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment approaches to target acute symptoms of mental health and substance use conditions. PHPs follow a daily structured routine, Monday through Friday, from generally 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our PHPs are short-term stay and are tailored to each patient’s needs.

Kaleidoscope

An LGBTQIA+ Gender Expansive Affirming Mental Health PHP for Everyone. Bournewood Health Systems’ mental health primary adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) is designed to provide compassionate, affirming care in an in-person setting. Kaleidoscope emphasizes the importance of a safe space free of bias and/or threatening ideas.

Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Programs

For adolescents, we offer treatment for youths ages 13 to 18 who are in school and who are managing mental health issues, with a comprehensive array of therapeutic interventions.
