Bournewood Inpatient Admissions Process

Inpatient Admissions

Bournewood’s inpatient programs are an appropriate choice for adults and adolescents who need a highly structured hospital setting where they can address mental health and substance use conditions. Our inpatient system is an acute, short-term service and features separate Intensive Treatment Units for individuals needing treatment for acute conditions, as well as treatment for co-occurring conditions.

Admission to our Inpatient Programs come through hospital Emergency Departments and Community Behavioral Health Centers and are managed by our Admissions Department. For more information, call Admissions at 888.483.2271

Adults and adolescents who come to Bournewood receive individualized treatment and care from highly trained and compassionate clinical and specialty staff. The inpatient program includes group therapy settings designed to provide opportunities for valuable therapeutic interactions with peers faced with similar conditions. Family members are involved in the treatment process as well, as we strive to maintain a person’s natural supports, something that is crucial to recovery.

One of Bournewood’s unique features is the presence of a psychiatric physician or nurse practitioner on campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, available for around-the-clock triage, assessment, and admissions.
