DBT Informed Partial Hospitalization Program

Bournewood’s DBT-informed Partial Hospitalization Program in Woburn provides a treatment approach using the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Participants engage in DBT skills groups to learn distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Regular mindfulness practice is built into the structure of the program schedule. Group members have the opportunity to practice the skills they are learning throughout the course of the program. Additionally, the program includes other offered groups that use complementary approaches to the DBT modality.

Targeting Acute Symptoms

Tailored to You

Bournewood’s full-day PHPs promote recovery with evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment approaches to target acute symptoms. DBT-informed treatment may be helpful for individuals who struggle with emotion regulation, for example in individuals with borderline personality disorders, ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and some substance use conditions.

PHPs follow a structured routine, open Monday through Friday from generally 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. PHPs are short-term stay and are tailored to patients’ needs.
