Visitor Policy in Response to COVID-19

Out of an abundance of caution and to help patients staying at Bournewood and our staff be healthy and safe, we have suspended all visits to our adult treatment units on the Brookline campus.

For the adolescent inpatient treatment unit, we will allow one parent/guardian visit per patient per day.

For parents and guardians: If you have traveled to China, Japan, South Korea, Iran or Italy, we ask that you do not visit at this time. If you have had a fever greater than 100.4 F or symptoms of respiratory illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing regardless of travel, please postpone your visit. And if you’ve been in close contact with someone who is confirmed with COVID-19, do not visit at this time.

Thank you for helping us keep our patients and staff safe and well.

WHO WE ARE

Bournewood is a full-service, independent, privately-owned psychiatric facility located in Brookline, Massachusetts, providing mental health and substance use treatment services and programs in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. We serve adults and adolescents ages 12 to 18 in all diagnostic categories. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centered with recovery the focus of our treatment, services, and supports.

A Comprehensive Continuum of Care

Our comprehensive continuum of services is provided by a highly trained, dedicated, and compassionate team who are committed to evidence-based practices and the best treatment outcomes for each individual who comes through our doors.

What sets Bournewood apart? A psychiatrist physician on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week as well as our triage, assessment, and admissions process that also operates 24/7, so we’re here for you when you need us, anytime, day or night.

“In the United States, more than 60% of us have been exposed to trauma. If unaddressed, recovery is more challenging. That is why trauma-informed treatment is the clinical foundation of our approach.”
