Title: Staff Education Coordinator
Bournewood Health Systems is establishing inpatient and partial hospital programs in the Lowell area, and we are seeking a Staff Education Coordinator to train and educate clinical program staff. The incumbent’s prime responsibilities will be to interview, select and on-board the clinical staff.
The Staff Education Coordinator is responsible for the professional development of clinical staff via Bournewood’s robust and diverse orientation and educational programs. The Staff Education Coordinator will be a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who is adept at working with staff at all levels of a behavioral health facility, from the direct care staff to the management team.
We will give preference to candidates familiar with the Six Core Strategies© and with experience in efforts to reduce the use of restraints and seclusion. Incumbent must be familiar with or have worked in a treatment environment that is recovery oriented, trauma informed, collaborative and strives to prevent coercion. Qualifications: Bachelors-prepared RN with at least 5 years inpatient psychiatric experience. The position requires the candidate to have teaching and supervision experience. Experience/knowledge of trauma-informed care and Six Core Strategies© for mitigation and conflict resolution best practices is preferred.
Experience interviewing, selection and on-boarding clinical staff in coordination with Human Resources. Must be a current CPR instructor, and have training in crisis prevention.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills; outstanding organizational skills; and a talent for identifying training and educational trends in the behavioral health field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
