Chief Nurse Officer 


Description: Bournewood Health Systems is seeking Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The Chief Nursing Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and provides strategic leadership as the senior executive responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions and services within the hospital organization. The CNO assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on an organizational level; and ensures program staff meets Joint Commission and licensing requirements, providing overall direction and supervision to managers in areas of regulatory compliance.


This leadership role assumes 24/7 responsibility and is accountable for ensuring high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The CNO defines and implements the philosophy, standards, organization and policies and procedures of the Nursing Department.  The CNO has the theoretical knowledge, experience, and skills to assume authority and responsibility for nursing practice while adhering to the overall mission of Bournewood Health Systems.

Qualifications: Current License in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing.  Supervisory, management or nursing education experience.  Master Degree in nursing or equivalent knowledge and skills. Strong organizational skills. Proven leadership and supervisory skills. Effective interpersonal and writing skills. Knowledge of Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Treatment for adults and adolescents.
