Title:  Manager of Staff Education


The Manager of Staff Development develops and oversees hospital-wide training and education programs including clinical education and facilitating CEUs from accrediting bodies for various professional disciplines. The Manager’s prime responsibility is the professional development of clinical staff through orientation, annual education and diverse educational programs. The Manager is a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who is adept at working with staff at all levels of the behavioral health facility, from the direct care staff to the executive management team. Staff development at Bournewood is a collaborative effort and the Manager guides hospital leadership and staff to meet the goal of having Bournewood be trauma-informed and person-centered. The Manager is expected to support this goal through education and training and supervision.

Qualifications:   Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse; Graduate of an accredited nursing program; A bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field; At least 5 years of experience in inpatient behavioral health; Enrollment as a matriculating student in an accredited master’s level nursing program; experience/knowledge of trauma-informed care and best clinical practices; Certified CPR/First Aide instructor; Certified CPI Instructor


Essential Competencies: Knowledge of trauma informed care, bio-psychosocial factors, cultural and age related issues with various patient populations; ability to teach and supervise; public speaking; excellent interpersonal skills; outstanding organizational skills; and a talent for identifying training and educational needs and trends in the behavioral health field.
