Title:   Assistant Controller


Description:   Responsible for day-to-day supervision and work of the Accounting Department and related functions, including preparation of monthly financial statements. The person in this position supervises, trains, evaluates and provides leadership to staff accountant, accounts payable and payroll representative; assists with the preparation of annual operating and capital budget and serves as key liaison to managers. Incumbent must have experience in automated accounting environment, strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work successfully at all levels of the organization. Position interfaces with the corporate accounting team at Alita Care, Bournewood’s parent company in Phoenix, Arizona. Incumbent performs duties in accordance with corporate, organization and department policies and procedures while adhering to the overall mission of Bournewood Health Systems.

Qualifications:   BS in Accounting or equivalent; progressive experience and professional growth in a computerized accounting department; healthcare experience and CPA preferred; knowledge of GAAP; strong accounting and general ledger background; experience with Great Plains accounting software and with Paycom Payroll and HR applications preferred; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and Word applications; strong management, interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills
