A. Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Boston Medical Center Healthnet, Tufts and Harvard Pilgrim HMOs, and most other insurance companies.
Q. What are the visiting hours for Bournewood Hospital?
A. Family and friends may visit from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Saturdays and Sundays. Visiting at other times may be arranged in advance by calling the unit.
Q. Are children permitted to visit patients of Bournewood Hospital?
A. Children under the age of fifteen may visit if accompanied by an adult and approved by the nursing and/or medical staff.
Q. Are visits by the clergy allowed?
A. Visits by the clergy are encouraged.
Q. Does Bournewood Hospital hold currency for the patients to use?
A. The Admitting Office will hold no more than $20.00 for a patientīs expenses and cannot be responsible for a patientīs money, jewelry, clothing, or other personal belongings.
Q. Does Bournewood Hospital have anywhere that valuables may be kept?
A. Patients should leave valuables at home since the hospital cannot take responsibility for their safekeeping.
Q. How much clothing should patients bring with them to the hospital?
A. We recommend that patients bring three changes of comfortable clothing along with outdoor clothing appropriate to the season.
Q. Does Bournewood provide laundry services?
A. Patients who are able may do their own laundry while in the hospital.
Q. Can a patient leave a car overnight?
A. Cars may not be left overnight.
